Makeshift Memorial For Slain Brevard County Deputy

MELBOURNE, Florida  -  After the public was permitted by law enforcement back into the area where  52-year-old Brevard County Deputy Barbara Pill was killed yesterday, American flags and flowers are being laid at a stop sign at the intersection of John Rhodes Boulevard and Elina Way.

"Our worst nightmare has come true.  One of our own, an incredible deputy sheriff by the name of Barbara Pill was shot and killed in the line of duty this morning," said Sheriff Jack Parker at a press conference yesterday.

My sister-in-law was one of the sweetest women I know. She was a wonderful mother and wife. She loved her job and helping others. It is terrible that her family has to endure the pain of what she tried to prevent. In her memory, the American flag in my front yard will fly at half mast until after her funeral. Please pray for my brother and the rest of our family.
thank you.....
