Teenager Hit By Car In Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Florida -- The Melbourne Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident which occurred at the intersection of Babcock Street and Florida Avenue in Melbourne, Florida.  A thirteen-year-old boy attempted to cross Babcock Street, from the east side to the west side, but was struck by an oncoming vehicle traveling northbound.  

Police say that, according to several witnesses, the vehicle traveling northbound on Babcock had a green light but made contact with the juvenile in the cross walk.  The driver of the vehicle was not cited for any violations and the injured teenager was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital.
