Thousands Attend Beachside Easter Sunrise Services

COCOA BEACH, Florida -- Thousands of Christians attended sunrise services all along Brevard County beaches this Easter morning where the devout rejoiced in the Resurrection of Christ.

Two services were held at the two Easter Surf Festival locations in Cocoa Beach this morning.  Destiny Church if Merritt Island, Florida held a Sunrise Service at the Cocoa Beach Pier while Christ Lutheran Church of Cape Canaveral, Florida, held a Sunrise Service at Shepard Park.

Due to the beautification of Ocean Beach Boulevard by the City of Cocoa Beach, there was less available parking spaces for the devout who often had to park as far away as Our Saviour's Catholic Church to attend the events.

At the beginning of the services this morning, a trio of two helicopters and one plane with the words 'Jesus Saves' under its wings flew from north to south along beach overhead the Sunrise Services.
