PORT ST. JOHN, Florida -- The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that 59-year-old Stephen Moore of Titusville, Florida, died as the result of injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash in Port St. John, Florida.
Just before 5 p.m. today, 21-year-old Garrett Shrader of Melbourne, Florida, was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram westbound on Fay Boulevard while approaching the intersection of Grissom Parkway in Port St. John, Florida.
FHP troopers say that Shrader had a steady red light signal as he approached the intersection while Moore had a steady green light as he approached the intersection when traveling northbound on Grissom Parkway on a 2006 Honda motorcycle.
For reason's unknown to FHP, Shrader allegedly failed to obey the red light and stop at the intersection. The Ram's front end collided with the Honda's right side within the intersection.
Moore was transported from the accident scene to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
Shrader, and his 22-year-old passenger, Travis Hartt of Cocoa, Florida, did not suffer any injuries.
FHP says that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
FHP says the accident remains under investigation as to charges.

This was my sweet, wonderful brother. Why can't people look twice and save a life? Steve did nothing wrong. At least he's with God now...
I agree. This was my dad, and I am now standing in my closet, in a daze, trying to figure out what to wear. A great dad, brother, son , grandfather and husband gone way too soon. I love you dad. See you in heaven.
I am so sorry for your loss. Steve was a wonderful friend, a valued co-worker, a valiant man of God. His sweet and quiet demeanor will be missed at work. I always loved the fact that no wonder how crazy things got at work, he always took the time to stop at the customer counter to " check in" with Pam, before he left for the day. There will be a huge empty spot at work from now on. Please know that all of our prayers are with you, and yours, at this time. Karen Cook
I am so sorry. Steve was an awesome person, who would give you the shirt of his back.
My heart goes out to all his loved ones.

Thank you so much for your kind words and sharing his memory. Steve is up in heaven, delivering mail, telling jokes, and keeping an eye on us all. It just won't be the same down here without him, but in His time, not ours.
Thanks so much, Susan. Not only would he give you the shirt off his back, he would tell you the story behind the shirt! Heaven has gained one awesome person!
I'm glad I got to met him he was truly a great person.
He always asked if I took my vitamin (in side Joke).
He truly will be miss.

I am glad that I knew Steve and worked with such a great guy.
Last night, my 6 year old could tell I was upset, so I explained what happened. He told me that it is okay because he is an angel now and that he was in heaven with his dog and my son's goldfish(which recently died).
With those words of wisdom, I know that Steve is at peace in heaven but unfortunatly his loved ones remain with sadness in their hearts. I am thinking of Pam and ALL of Steve's family as they deal with his tragic death. My prayers are with you all .... Steve will be missed.
There are many who you know and talk with, but few become your friend. Steve, you were my friend and I will miss you!
We are so sorry for the loss of a wonderful and caring son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather to the Moore family. Steve's family is in the prayers of many across the country. May the peace of God comfort all who loved him and miss him. Helen & Ren Davis
Steve was my wonderful brother-in-law...the greatest thing that ever happened to my sister, Pam and niece, Heather. I remember how excited Pam was when we went shopping for their first date and then how much greater the excitement was on their wedding day (yes, we were even there for the honeymoon!) and how that excitement never faded over the years. I'll be forever grateful for all of the love and happiness that he brought into their lives. We love you, Steve and will greatly miss you!!! Kim & Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with Steve's family during this very sad and difficult time, our hearts are heavy with such pain
for your loss. May God give you strength during this time.
Love Trish Cohron and family
Our prayers and thoughts are with Pam and all of the family.
Our hearts are heavy with sadness for the loss of Steve here on earth, but heaven rejoices, for Steve is home with his Lord and Savior. May God's peace and grace cover each family member and friend of Steve's.
Steve was my cousin. His mother and father, my aunt and uncle, are steadfast Christians and much loved by their family and friends back home in Kentucky. My condolences to all those whose lives Steve touched for the better. God bless him for all the good he did in his world.--Colin Moore, for the Moores of Union County, Kentucky.
I didn't know Steve but I know his wonderful sister. I am so sorry for all the pain that this asshole caused.
As Steve and Pam's Postmaster, I was shocked and deeply saddened when I learned of this tragedy. Steve was a great postal employee; always willing to help, great attitude, and delivered great customer service. I speak for all of us at the Cocoa post office when I say he was a fantastic human being. He was quiet, but had a quick wit and was quick to laugh. My heartfelt sympathy extends to Pam, and Pam and Steve's families during this most difficult time of healing. Pam let me know her family and church support will be there for her. Her postal family will also be there to offer our stength and support in recovering from this tragedy. We will miss Steve.
My prayers go out to Pam and Steve's family. I knew Steve through the P.O. but we conversed often about the love of riding our motorcycles. Please remind everyone you know to check twice for motorcycles. The good die too young. Steve I'll see ya on the other side freind.

We will miss his sweet smiling face always there when we walk through the doors at Wetside...
Much love to Pam and all who knew him.

Comment above should have been Westside Church, not Wetside.

Hi. I was at the cemetery today visiting my father's grave and saw your father's with all the lovely flowers. Didn't know him, but I thought about the family of this person; if he had parents, a wife and children. What they must be going through and for the rest of their lives. It's been 2 months since my father passed away and I'm still in mourning. It's ok to cry, to be angry, to want to be alone at times, these are normal feelings are you mourn. God bless you all.
that's "as you mourn"
Thank you so much for your beautiful thoughts. I'm back in Georgia now and it's very difficult to get through the day, much less the night. I feel lost at times and don't know what to do. With God's help, I'll make it through.
Thanks from his wonderful sister. I sure do wish I knew who this was so I could get an extra hug...
Thanks so much , Colin. I'll make sure Mom and Dad know.
Amen. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much, Trish, Wes, Brad and Kelley. Thanks also for being a wonderful support for Nicole. She was such a strength for me down in Titusville. Welcome to our family and we need to get together soon.
Thank you for your prayers. Your son is wise beyond his years. Steve will be greatly missed.
Thank you, Doug. I'm finding out that he has touched so many, many lives.
Thanks for your kind thoughts. He will be missed by many.
Thanks so much, Helen and Ren. Your cards sent to my parents and Ned and I were beautiful as well. We greatly appreciate the prayers as we try to find our way without him.
Steve and Pam were so great together and he always had a smile on his face ever since he found Pam. It was a great love story cut short. We will all get through this with God's help.
Thank you so much. Steve has truly been "returned to sender". He now lives in the glory of God. Please give Pam an extra hug from me. It will be very difficult for her to walk past Steve's work station every day.
Thanks so much for your prayers. I've always looked twice to save a life, but I'll be telling of Steve's tragedy to anyone that will listen.
Thanks for your memory of Steve. I hear that he was quite a greeter every Sunday! We shall all meet again, just not in our time, but His.
I knew the individuals involved in the dodge ram both definitely are idiots but the aftermath has had an adverse affect on them not sure if is better or worse for society but just know they dont know how to live with what happened
Thank you for the update. The driver certainly didn't show any remorse after the accident. He had the gall to show his damaged truck bumper on Facebook and said that Steve's family couldn't do anything about the accident and Steve's death. Our family would like to be there for his trial in that he did commit murder. Our loss of Steve is very much in our lives. The wounds are still very deep and raw. We are still praying for acceptance of this terrible tragedy.
Thank you, idontliketravish. I have an update for you. Garrett Shrader's court date was on Thursday. He got $1000 fine, no license for a year, and 130 hours in community service (in the jail and ER Dept). That was the maximum the judge could give. It won't bring Steve back, but nothing will at this point. I must work on forgiveness, but it's not easy.
