PALM BAY, Florida-- A Brevard County resident reporting a suspicious person in his neighborhood
led a Brevard County Sheriff's deputy to the discovery of a woman who
had been missing for more than two weeks.
22-year-old Marsharie Lemons-Garret was
located just before 10:30 pm Wednesday night in a wooded area at the west end of Briar
Creek Blvd in the town of Malabar, Florida. The resident who lives in the 1300
block of Pemberton Trail in Malabar called deputies after seeing a woman
wandering in the area.
Brevard County Sheriff's Deputy James Harrison
responded from the beachside area and trekked into the wooded area where
the woman was last seen. The deputy was on foot and located the woman
who attempted to hide.
Police say that Lemons-Garrett appeared to be suffering from
exposure including numerous insect bites - but otherwise appeared in good
condition. She was taken to Palm Bay Hospital for evaluation.
Palm Bay
Police detectives responded to the hospital where they will
attempt to interview the woman in hopes of determining what occurred.
Family members are being contacted and the investigation is ongoing.
