Sanford Police Arrest Volusia Deputy For Domestic Violence

SANFORD, Florida -- The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office has initiated an internal investigation following the arrest Thursday morning by the Sanford Police Department of Volusia County deputy Michael Sawicki on a domestic violence-battery charge. 

Sawicki, who is 24-years-old and has been with the Sheriff’s Office since May 2009, was off duty at the time of his arrest.   

The Volusia County Sheriff's Department says that Sawicki will be temporarily reassigned from his patrol duties to the Communications Center pending the outcome of the investigation.
