BCC Library Launches e-Reader Program
BREVARD COUNTY, FL - As the 2012 fall semester begins, a new era is starting at Brevard Community
College campus libraries thanks to a new service — e-readers.
These special tools — four Kindle Touches and an iPad — will be available at each library to
assist students, especially those who are visually impaired, to be successful in their educational
quest.
Each Kindle and iPad is equipped with WiFi access and is preloaded with e-books from
BCC faculty reading lists and popular fiction titles.
Effective August 20, 2012. students can visit the library circulation desk to inquire into availability.
Due
to limited supply, BCC says that use will be on a first-come, first-served basis for BCC students only. However,
the process is simple. Any of the e-readers may be checked out for use over a three week
period just like a book.
Additionally, laptops are available to all students for in-library use. They are fully-equipped with
WiFi access and printer-capable.
