2 Alarm Residential Fire In Grant-Valkaria

GRANT-VALKARIA, Florida Brevard County Fire Rescue firefighters are battling a two-alarm house fire at 6765 Las Pamos Drive in Grant-Valkaria.  Fire crews were dispatched to the two-story home at 3:14 a.m.

First arriving units reported heavy fire and smoke conditions at the rear of the home with approximately 70% of the structure involved, prompting firefighters to set up defensive firefighting operations.  The home is situated on a narrow roadway and there are no fire hydrants in the area.

Crews are utilizing a rotation of four water tenders to maintain a constant water supply to support firefighting operations.  Officials called for a second alarm to bring additional manpower to the scene. Multiple hose lines are being used to apply water to the fire.

Occupants of the home were able to exit safely.  Fire investigators are en route to the scene and will work to determine the cause of the fire once it has been extinguished.

Multiple units are staged north of the scene near Berry Street and Las Pamos Drive.  Access to the fire scene is blocked at this intersection to allow for the movement of personnel and equipment.

Fire crews are on scene from BCFR, Palm Bay Fire Department, Melbourne Fire Department, and Indian River County Emergency Services.
