The price of a first class U.S. Postage Stamp will increase on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 45 to 46 cents. Postcard postage rates will also increase from 32 to 33 cents.
Customers can still buy the U.S. Postal Service Forever Stamps at the 45 cent postal rate on Saturday, and continue to use the Forever Stamps after the 2013 U.S. stamp cost increase.
Including tomorrow's hike, the cost of a U.S. first class stamp will have increased by 7 cents in as many years since 2006 when it was 39 cents. The stamp price over this time period will have increased by 17.94%.
