Th renaming of the facility came at
the request of former Brevard County Sheriff Jack Parker and the surviving
relatives of Brevard County Sheriff's Deputy Barbara Pill during a County Commission meeting last October.
“One year ago today each of us felt the loss when we learned that Deputy Barbara Pill had made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty," said Brevard Sheriff Wayne Ivey. "In a split second, Steve lost his wife, Jeremy and Ryan lost their mother, our agency lost a Deputy, and our community lost a friend. This new facility is dedicated to Barbara and will be a constant reminder of her dedication and commitment to the Brevard County community."
22-year-old Brandon Lee Bradley and 19-year-old Andria Michelle Kerchner remain in custody awaiting trial in the murder of Deputy Pill.
