Suspect Wanted For String of Car Burglaries In Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Florida -- Ten vehicle burglaries occurred in the Edgewood Drive and South Fairway Drive area in Melbourne during the overnight hours from April 21st to April 22nd.

Melbourne police say that the investigation revealed the suspects checked for open car doors and then entered these unlocked vehicles.  Police were able to obtain still images of a suspect entering into a vehicle and taking small items. 

The Melbourne Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in trying to identify this suspect. If anyone knows the identity of the person in the picture, police ask that you please contact Crime Line immediately. 

The Melbourne Police Department added that it would like to remind citizens to lock their vehicles after they leave them as “flipping door handles” is the most common method of victimization; it is the most common and the most preventable.
