MELBOURNE, Florida -- The City of Melbourne said in a release that a number of businesses and other contributors have provided more than $13,000 in contributions to the Melbourne Community Fireworks Fund, covering the cost of the 2013 4th of July fireworks display and a shuttle bus service, and also providing support for the Independence Day parade that the City co-sponsors with Honor America Inc.
A fireworks display over the Indian River Lagoon is to provide the highlight of Melbourne’s Independence Day celebration. The display is scheduled for 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, over the waters of the Indian River Lagoon just south of the Melbourne Causeway.
Supporters of the celebration at the $1,000 co-sponsor level include Gray Robinson Law Firm, Health First Health Plans, Melbourne Greyhound Park/Club 52, Reiss Engineering, and Waste Management. Contributing $750 is Southeast Aerospace.
Co-sponsors at the $500 level include AAR Airlift Group; Bright House Networks; Coastal Mitsubishi/Coastal Hyundai; Dean, Ringers, Morgan & Lawton, P.A.; Embraer; Florida Business Bank; Harry & Wendy Brandon; ICC Capital Management Inc.; Northrop Grumman; and Sutton Properties.

The Claude Edge Front Street Park provides the primary viewing area for the fireworks display. Parking in the area is very limited. Free bus transportation is to be provided between the park and the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 Hibiscus Boulevard. Buses are to depart for the park at 7:10 p.m., 7:50 p.m., and 8:10 p.m. Buses are to return to the auditorium at 7:30 p.m., 8:10 p.m., 8:50 p.m., 9:30 p.m., and 10:10 p.m.
The Independence Day parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. on July 4, 2013. The parade is to begin on New Haven Avenue near the railroad tracks and proceed westward to Oak Street, then travel northward on Oak Street to the Liberty Bell Museum.
