UPDATE: 2nd Arrest Made In Kangaroo Express Armed Robbery
MIMS, Florida -- The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred earlier today at the Kangaroo Express located at 3164 W. Main Street in Mims, Florida.
At approximately
10:45 AM, an unknown black male suspect, approximately 5’8”- 5’10” wearing all dark clothing
and a black ski mask, entered the business, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. The
male obtained an undisclosed amount of currency before departing the store, where he was
observed entering an awaiting vehicle driven by another male.
The suspect's vehicle was then observed by deputies in the area of Hammock Road in Mims. The
suspects fled from the vehicle into a wooded area where 20-year-old LeQuan Irell Mayo of
Cocoa, Florida was arrested. Mayo, the alleged driver of the vehicle, was charged with Principle to Armed
Robbery and is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail Complex on a no bond status.
