MELBOURNE, Florida -- The City of Melbourne will have its 4th of July fireworks display over the waters of the Indian River Lagoon just south of the Melbourne Causeway. The Claude Edge Front Street Park provides the primary viewing area for the fireworks display. Parking in the area is very limited. The display is scheduled for 9 p.m. on July 4, 2014.
Free bus transportation is to be provided between the park and the Melbourne Auditorium located at 625 Hibiscus Boulevard.
Times for bus departure FROM THE AUDITORIUM to Front Street Park: 7:10 p.m., 7:50 p.m., 8:10 p.m. Times for bus departure FROM FRONT STREET PARK to the Auditorium: 7:30 p.m., 8:10 p.m., 8:50 p.m., 9:30 p.m., 10:10 p.m.
Limited handicapped parking spaces will be available at the Front Street boat ramp. No parking is allowed on the portion of the causeway that is in the City of Melbourne.
The boat ramp at Front Street Park will be closed at 5 p.m. on July 3 and will reopen at 9 a.m. on July 5.
MELBOURNE 4TH OF JULY PARADE
The Independence Day parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. on July 4, 2014. The parade is to begin on New Haven Avenue near the railroad tracks and proceed westward to Oak Street, then travel northward on Oak Street to the Liberty Bell Museum.
