ROCKLEDGE, Florida -- Agents with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office upgraded the charges against 52-year-old David Glen Brevick of Rockledge, Florida to Premeditated First Degree Murder after his wife, 56- year-old Francia Vargas-Brevick, died in the hospital two days after Brevick was arrested and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder
The charges stem from an incident that occurred at the couple's residence in Rockledge on August 8, 2014, at approximately 11:36 P.M. Deputies had responded to the residence after Brevick made a 911 emergency call to the Sheriff’s Office indicating that two men had entered the residence and were injuring his wife.

Upon searching the residence, the deputies were unable to locate any intruders. They did locate Brevick’s wife on the bedroom floor who was unresponsive. Vargas-Brevick was then transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
On August 10, 2014, Vargas-Brevick died as a result of her injuries. An autopsy was performed by the Brevard County Medical Examiner's Office who ruled that the manner of death was a homicide.
