Kristine Isnardi announces bid for Brevard County Commissioner
PALM BAY, Florida - Former two-term Palm Bay City Councilmember Kristine
Isnardi announced her candidacy for Brevard County Commission District
5 on Wednesday. Isnardi, a Registered Nurse, wife and mother of 6, says she hopes to bring
her record of fiscal responsibility, accountability, transparency and
efficiency to Brevard County’s southern district.
“After some serious
consideration and long discussions with family and friends, I have
decided to make a run for it,” Isnardi
said. “We need strong and honest leadership, both in our country and at
the local level. I feel very strongly about holding our government
accountable to deliver what the people want.”
Isnardi served two terms on the Palm Bay City Council
from 2007-2014. Palm Bay is the largest city in Brevard County with
more than 109,000 residents. Isnardi touted her tenure on council as being most
noted for her strong stance on pension reform and fiscal sustainability.
Isnardi said in a release that she strongly believes in supporting public safety with
responsible, efficient and sustainable service delivery. She is a
proponent of investing in the foundations of infrastructure in order to
drive economic development and job creation.
“I have never been a
‘yes’ person. I believe in order to represent the citizens fairly you
must be unafraid of ‘upsetting the applecart’. Careful research and
investigation into all issues is essential to responsible decision
making and keeping the citizens informed is paramount.”
Brevard County District 5 is a hub for technology and innovation
in terms of the economic profile. Isnardi hopes to diversify and grow
the economy, in part by eliminating antiquated ordinances that hinder
development. She also said that she is committed to finding feasible solutions to
maintaining roads and infrastructure along with attracting new types of
business such as retail, entertainment, arts, culture and eco-tourism.
Isnardi lives in Palm Bay with her husband and
children. Her government experience includes roles on several boards
including the Transportation Planning Organization, the Capital Outlay
Committee and liaison for code enforcement. Isnardi also volunteers with
numerous organizations that support the underserved and our veterans.
