COCOA, Florida - Two burglars dressed as a Marvel Comics character stole an ATM from a gas station last week in Brevard County, Florida.
Surveillance video shows two people dressed in “Deadpool” full zip hoodies breaking the front door glass and removing the ATM located in the rear of the business. Deadpool is a fictional Marvel Comics character depicted as an anti-hero whose personality traits include mental instability, omni-sexuality, and regeneration powers.
Just after 2:30 a.m. on January 7, Brevard County Sheriff's deputies responded to the business located at 4580 Grissom Parkway in the unincorporated area of Cocoa, Florida in response to a business alarm. Upon arrival, the deputies discovered that the front door glass of the business had been broken and the ATM Machine had been stolen.
During the course of the burglary, one of the suspects unzipped his hood which caused it to briefly fall off his head. However, no identifying information was observed for the second suspect.
The suspects subsequently loaded the ATM into the back of a 1999 Ford E-250 van that was later reported as stolen from a nearby dealership. The suspects were unable to leave the business parking lot with the ATM and left it in the back of the van. The suspects were later seen in surveillance video being picked up in the area in a white Chevy Tahoe.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects or has knowledge of similar cases is asked to contact Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Agent Patrick Ferguson, West Precinct General Crimes at Patrick.Ferguson@bcso.us or by telephone at (321) 617-7306 or contact CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS.
