MERCER COUNTY, New Jersey - The sole winning ticket worth an estimated $429.6 million in last night's POWERBALL drawing was sold in Mercer County, New Jersey. The May 7, 2016 jackpot became the seventh largest in U.S. history after it rolled over eighteen times since March 2.

"Winning the Powerball jackpot is a life-changing event. Congratulations to the ticketholder(s) and to the retailer who sold it,” said Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director. “The winner and the retailer that sold this $429.6 million winning ticket will be added to the national Lottery historical record. We expect that the winner or winners will take their time before claiming the prize and consult with the appropriate professionals that can assist them in navigating these unchartered waters. Certainly though, we will be anxiously awaiting the phone call.”

The retail location will not be disclosed until the appropriate security procedures are completed, the New Jersey Lottery announced. It is anticipated that the name of the retail location will be disclosed by Monday, May 9th.
