Significant Weather Advisory For Southest Brevard County

UPDATE: The Significant Weather Advisory for all of Brevard County has expired. However, the Significant Weather Advisory has been extended for southeast Brevard County until 2:30 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY, Florida -- The National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida has issued a Significant Weather Advisory for all of Brevard County that will remain in effect until 1:30 p.m.

At 12:45 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along Orange County / Brevard County line from west of Titusville to the Camp Holly Fish Camp. The storms are moving east at 25 mph. 

Locations impacted include Palm Bay, Melbourne, Titusville, Rockledge, and Cocoa.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
