Halloween 2016 is just around the corner, so when you carve your pumpkin, you may wonder, "How do you roast pumpkin seeds?"
When carving your pumpkin, remove the guts and seeds and place the guts into a large pot.
Afterwards, pour water into the pot. This helps separate the pumpkin seeds from the guts because the seeds will float to the top.
Scoop out the pumpkin seed from the surface of the water.
It is then important to allow your pumpkin seeds to dry out for 24 to 48 hours before roasting.
If it is sunny, dry the pumpkin seed out in the sun between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. when humidity is at its lowest point and the sun is at its strongest point.
Pumpkin Seed Recipe
After drying, simply lay out the seeds on a lightly oiled cookie sheet and bake at a low (200 degrees or less) temperature for 10 to 15 minutes.
Lightly salt to taste, if desired.
