Plane Crashes At Melbourne International Airport

MELBOURNE, Florida  -- The wreckage of a small private plane has been located on the property of the Melbourne International Airport.  The crash occurred in the southwest corner of the airport property just north of its border to NASA Boulevard in Melbourne, Florida.

The Melbourne Police Department, Brevard County Sheriff's Office, and Brevard County Fire Rescue crews are on scene as those agencies determine the extent of the injuries and number of passengers involved in the plane crash.

Reports of the crash were made by witnesses to 911 just after 5 p.m. today.
