911 Calls - Brevard County Mom Kills Her 4 Kids, Then Self

PORT ST. JOHN, Florida -- The Brevard
County Sheriff's Office has released the 911 calls related to the deadly shooting in Port St. John where investigators believe that 33-year-old Tonya Thomas apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot after,she shot and killed her four children identified as Joel Johnson, age 12, Jazlin Johnson, 13, Jaxs Johnson, 15, and Pebbles Johnson, 17.
All five bodies from yesterday's apparent
murder/suicide were
transported to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office for a post
mortem exam. The autopsies are currently in progress and will not be
concluded until sometime tomorrow. Autopsy results will not be
available for at least 6-8 weeks.
"The investigation has determined that
the cause of death for all four victims was the result of multiple
gunshot injuries and the manner is homicide," said Brevard County
Sheriff's Office spokesperson Lt. Tod Goodyear. Tonya Thomas was found
to have a single gunshot wound that was self-inflicted.
The firearm used was a Taurus .38
caliber revolver. The Sheriff’s Office has not yet received the
information as to ownership history of the firearm and any
purchase/acquisition dates. The investigation is ongoing and has not
identified a motive, Goodyear added.
