Two Married Couples Carjacked In Volusia County
DEBARY, Florida -- Two
married couples were carjacked at gunpoint in a DeBary, Florida driveway early
Saturday morning. The suspect, dressed all in black, took the victim’s
keys and then drove the stolen vehicle away while his accomplice fled in
the car they arrived in. No shots were fired and no one was injured.
Volusia County Sheriff's deputies started arriving on scene within four
minutes of being notified - but the suspects were not found.
The
robbery occurred at about 2 a.m. at 123 Highland Avenue. The four victims
were returning home after a night out and one couple had just pulled
into the home’s driveway to drop the other couple off.
Then, a black
vehicle pulled up and a thin man, about 6’ tall, got out. He had his
face covered and wore all black clothing (but the victims told sheriff's deputies that they believed he
was a black man.)
The suspect pointed a rifle at the four victims as they
got out of the car and demanded the vehicle’s keys. He then got into
the victims’ 2009 silver Ford Mustang GT, license plate number Q135TW,
and drove away. Another person then drove away in the suspects’ car. But
none of the victims saw that driver.
