cover and photo gallery features the buxom blonde in a more stylish motif, wearing demure swimsuits and retro summer wear - a complete 180 from the see-through garb featured in her Sports Illustrated shoot. The caption to the only beach photo in the layout makes reference to "Kate's childhood on the beach in Florida."
The article explains the "Kate Effect" in the first two sentences: "What does it take to be America’s favorite bombshell? Killer curves,
of course, but Kate Upton has much more: old-fashioned ambition,
digital-age savvy, and personality to burn. The article goes on to crown Kate Upton as "The Hottest Supermodel on Earth."
