Owner of Suspected Melbourne Hit & Run Vehicle Contacts FHP
MELBOURNE, Florida -- The Florida Highway Patrol announced that it was contacted this afternoon by the owner of a vehicle that may have been involved in Saturday night's fatal crash in Melbourne, Florida.
The owner contacted FHP to determine if their SUV was the unidentified vehicle that may have run over one of the crash victims. FHP added that the owner of the vehicle is cooperating with troopers.

Troopers
have taken a White 2005 Toyota SUV into their possession as the suspect
vehicle. Troopers will send evidence to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement lab to be tested to
confirm that this was indeed the vehicle involved.
Around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, 25-year-old Quinn Stinson of Palm Bay, Florida was riding a 2001 Suziki motorcycle westbound on US-192 in the inside lane. Meanwhile, 50-year-old Timothy Robinson of West Melbourne, Florida was attempting to cross westbound US-192 on a bicycle from the north to the south side of the road near the intersection of Knotty Pine Road in Melbourne, Florida
According to FHP, the bicycle traveled into the direct path of the motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle struck then the bicycle, causing both riders to be ejected.
An unknown vehicle, described last night as a pickup truck, ran over Stinson when he was laying in the inside westbound lane of US-192 following the accident. The unknown vehicle then left the scene of the accident.
Stinson died at the scene and Robinson was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center as a trauma patient. Neither men were wearing helmets.
