SANFORD, Florida -- According to the Sanford Police Department, a Brevard County man allegedly offered a chicken dinner and $3 in exchange for sex from an undercover police officer.

Last Thursday, Sanford Police conducted a reverse prostitution sting operation where seven men were arrested and charged with soliciting the services of an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute.

Police say that one of those men, Steven Torres of Melbourne, Florida, met with the undercover officer in an area near the intersection of 27th Street and South Orlando Drive just before 6:30 p.m. and offered the officer a chicken dinner and $3 in exchange for sex.  Torres was then arrested just minutes after the alleged transaction was completed.

Torres was booked into the Seminole County Jail and later released on a $250 bond.  His court arraignment is scheduled for December 1, 2014, according to the Seminole County Clerk of Court records.

“This sting is part of the Sanford Police Department’s ongoing commitment to improve the quality of life for Sanford residents by going after not only those who sell sex but those who solicit sex as well,” Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith said in a statement.
