Palm Bay Man Killed In Osceola County Crash
ST. CLOUD, Florida -- The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a Brevard County man has died as a result of a hit-and-run crash in Osceola County, Florida.
Just before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, 57-year-old Gerald Watson of Palm Bay, Florida was changing a tire on a Volkswagen Passat on the north shoulder of US-192 near the intersection of Hibiscus Road. That's when a vehicle that was traveling westbound in the outside travel lane on US-192 struck Watson. Watson was then thrown about 50 feet onto the grass shoulder as a result of the impact, according to FHP reports.
FHP says that the unknown vehicle that struck Watson fled the scene. Watson's wife was in the Passat when the accident occurred - but didn't see the vehicle that struck her husband.
Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to all FHP at 407-737-2213.
This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
