MIAMI, Florida - NOAA's National Hurricane Center issued a Public Advisory due to Tropical Depression Irma that has weakened from a powerful hurricane.

As of 11 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Monday, September 11, 2017, Tropical Depression Irma has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph (55 km/h), with higher gusts.
Irma is currently a tropical depression on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. NHC forecasters expect the system to weaken into a remnant low tonight.

Tropical Depression Irma Projected Path Update
Tropical Depression Irma is located 95 miles south-southwest of Atlanta, Georgia and is moving to the northwest at 15 mph (24 km/h). NHC forecasters say that Irma is expected to slow down in forward speed.
NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center forecasts that the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 through November 30, could be the busiest in seven years.
